Descriptions: Former law enforcement officer turned conservationist Joseph Barringer turned over a new chapter six years ago, when he went into business helping private citizens and governments establish emergency shelters for various purposes. These purposes include isolation zones for emergency COVID outbreaks, quick medical facilities that can be moved to problem zones without long construction cycles, temporary lodgings for people who have been displaced, and the homeless. The latter was of particular interest to Barringer who has worked with various charities to help the homeless for the last decade. At various points during his work in this sector, he reached out to us for a simple solution for the interior walls of these structures.

Descriptions: Miriam lives in a small town with a population less than 6,000 citizens, near winding farmlands and great plains in the breadbasket of the country. She is a farmer herself, mostly working with small groups of breeding livestock and dogs, but also housing a handful of hatcheries that produce a good amount of eggs. Her husband Philip is a jack of all trades, serving as the town’s mailman, but also a part-time farmer around their homestead, and a general contractor. After hearing her husband discuss a job where he worked with PVC materials, and how much easier the materials are to handle, she got an idea.
In their flatland farming town, one of the most talked about concerns amoung her neighbors (and Miriam herself) is protecting her animals against sudden storms. Miriam knew that most people feared tornadoes coming to sweep away their sheep and cows were a real concern, but there was also concern over severe thunderstorms that damage their old wooden barns, causing water damage and flooding if the walls aren’t patched. This is when Miriam decided she would serve her community--and her own purse--by offering her husband’s expertise as a builder of emergency shelters. The above ground areas would give the farmers a place to store small animals if their wooden barns didn’t have room; underground shelters were for the tornados that always threaten lowlands.
