Nelly installed Waterproof Wall Paneling inside her cafeteria kitchen by getting rid of FRP panels

03 November, 2020

In this blog today, we will tell you how we installed vinyl panels inside a small snack corner. Nelly owns a small cafeteria by the Bay Area, famous for serving sumptuous snacks and healthy breakfast. So, you can very well understand that it pulls a lot of crowds. It’s been just a couple of years since the eatery has been running successfully. She is always very particular about the food, space, the kitchen, and the ambiance.

Duramax manufacturing vinyl panels for more than 40 years:

Nelly recently noticed that despite covering the walls with FRP board, the walls are getting dampened, and the panels are coming off. So, she started worrying, especially about the kitchen and was desperately looking for a solution. She started discussing the issue with her friends and she came to know that the kitchen walls demand a waterproof solution. Now she has installed FRP panels, being unaware that it’s not suitable for damp areas. Nelly came to know about vinyl panels and started researching very well and tried to find out the most popular supplier in the area. She came across the Duramax website; she spent time reading and knowing more about vinyl panels. If you need to know about vinyl panels well, talk to our experts by booking a consultation like Nelly did. We have been offering waterproof wall paneling for more than 40 years now.

PVC panels can last for a lifetime:

Firstly, she wanted to know why FRP boards are not a suitable choice for kitchen space. She was sad that she invested a lot of money on getting the panels, and now they needed to be replaced. We explained that PVC is a little on the expensive side but needs the least maintenance. Also, the panels are 100% waterproof, and the walls can be washed without any worries. We told Nelly that installing vinyl wall panels is a one-time investment because once installed; the panels can last for a lifetime. If you ask us what’s a lifetime, we would say that our panels would remain in excellent condition and keep your walls in good condition for 25-30 years, which is a very long time.

PVC panels with no backers:

She noticed that the walls had become so sticky, oil accumulation, dirt, grime, and overall, the kitchen is looking very unhealthy. We further explained that FRP panels require backers (OSB, Drywall, or Plywood) during the installation process. The backers are not waterproof; instead, they soak in a lot of moisture accumulating on the panels and go into the walls to form bacterial infestation. This causes the panels to delaminate and the walls to get dampened and severely damaged. But PVC panels do not have backers, so no water vapor of moisture gets into the walls and panels, keeping both dry for years.
